Free international hip-hop show at World Urban Festival
Published by Patrick June 22nd, 2006 in Lower Mainland, Youth Tags: Lower Mainland, Youth.On Thursday, June 22nd at 7:00pm, stars of the international Hip-Hop scene will perform at the Global Hip-Hop Mainstage, a FREE concert celebrating Hip-Hop culture’s massive worldwide appeal and important contribution to positive urban development.
Happening at Earth: The World Urban Festival site tomorrow as part of the youth events for the World Urban Forum, the Global Hip-Hop Mainstage will feature dynamic Hip-Hop and world music artists from Africa, Asia, Europe and Canada’s Indigenous communities.
The event will highlight the unique connection between the United Nations conference and the realities faced by young urban people worldwide. Ms. Anna Tibaijuka, Under Secretary General of the United Nations will induct local aboriginal Hip-Hop icon Curtis Clearsky into UN HABITAT’s Messengers Of Truth program, a popular initiative to recognize talented Hip-Hop artists working to empower youth in urban centers around the world.

It’s an all-ages show…but there is a BEER GARDEN on-site.
If you are at the World Urban Forum already, shuttle buses to the concert will be leaving from outside the Convention Cenre every half hour starting at 4:00pm tomorrow.
