Present: Terry Ruyter (UTE Local 20007), Carol Pegura (UTE Local 20029), Kim Forster (UTE Local 20029), Regina Brennan (PSAC Area Rep), Dale Odberg (UVAE Local 20029), Donna Cowan (UVAE Local 20029), , Johann Ackermann (UTE Local 20029), Jeremy Amour (UTE Local 20029)

- 5:30 PM Call to order
- Carol/Hilde M/S to accept the minutes - carried
- Kay handed out a copy of her report to the Regional Council (Oct 28-29/06) and did an overview of the report. Members of the area council had attempted to meet with Sukh Dahliwal twice. Kay also went over her reasons for her vote in the NBOD concerning members being disciplined for apparently crossing picket lines in various locals. The pros and cons on various types of discipline were discussed. Noted that the TB Bargaining Conferences were coming shortly.
- The National Women’s Conference is next year in November.
- Regina - Union School will be happening in the next few weeks. Embroidered Arm Bands have been ordered but there were only a few as they are over $7. There’s a Human Rights Committee meeting tomorrow with several speakers mentioned in Carol’s November 7th email.
- Kay mentioned that at the 2006 PSAC Convention, Section 14 was changed so that PSAC Committees that affiliate with an Area Council will have certain voting rights. Kay and Ed Cashman are working on a template for area council bylaws in respect to this change.
- Regina - The Women at Work Part II will be held next year. Assertiveness skills and avoiding burnout are part of the course.
- Dale brought info she received about affiliating with the New Westminster and District Labour Council. It’s $0.30 per member per month to affiliate. Kay said that the PSAC will pay $300.00 to help cover these costs. Dale’s office in Surrey has 15 members.
- The next meeting will be on December 12th at 5:30 PM at Boston Pizza on King George across from Costco.
- Kim/Carol reported on the Lancaster Teleconference, which was joined by members via phone at the RO. A CD belonging to the Human Rights Committee will be available to be borrowed. Duty to Accommodate was discussed and how the information is being given out to members.
- Carol/Hilde m/s to pay $21.18 for the pizza.
- Johann/Hilde m/s to adjourn @ 7:20PM
