RE: Count Me In Campaign
The Federation is now seeking candidates for the positions available in our Count Me In program during the upcoming federal election campaign. I would appreciate your assistance to circulate the attached job posting as widely as possible.
Each of these positions is a term position under the Federation’s collective agreement. The starting and end dates for some of these positions will be varied to reflect the actual timing of the election.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES: B.C. FEDERATION OF LABOUR ‘COUNT ME IN’ POLITICAL ACTION PROGRAM
The B.C. Federation of Labour is seeking candidates for its federal election Count Me In Campaign team. The Count Me In project works with affiliates of the B.C. Federation of Labour to maximize their members’ participation in the upcoming election on the issues of concern to union members. The Count Me In Campaign offers participants an opportunity to work with a wide range of union members across the province while developing and implementing new approaches to voter contact and mobilization.
Interested candidates are welcome to apply for one or more of the following positions, all of which report to the Federation’s Count Me In Coordinator and will be for varying terms depending on election timing:
Media Production Coordinator
The Media Production Coordinator will be responsible for the production of written materials, including posters and leaflets for use in local campaigns, website content and special campaign materials such as direct mail pieces or e-campaign releases.
Member Volunteer Coordinator
The Member Volunteer Coordinator will develop and implement a member volunteer recruitment strategy to encourage member participation in the election process. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, selecting, training, placing and supporting volunteers throughout the election process.
Member Volunteer Trainer
The Volunteer Trainer will ensure volunteers have the necessary skills and training to support the Campaign. This Campaign team member will develop and present training modules for various roles carried out by CMI volunteers.
Regional Political Action Coordinators
Working with local unions, Labor Councils and community organizations, the regional Coordinators will direct the Campaign on the ground in selected regions of the province, ensuring affiliates are able to canvas members, identify issues and voters, support labor issues in their regions and perform general campaign organizing.
Information Services Specialist
The Information Services Specialist will assist affiliates in the preparation and upgrading of their existing databases to support their Count Me in activities. The successful candidate will have at least three years’ experience and an extensive knowledge of database applications including MS Access, Filmmaker Pro, Oracle, Paradox and SQL.
Count Me In Tour Coordinator: The Tour Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing a province-wide tour that promotes the Count Me In Campaign. The successful candidate will have experience in event planning and coordination as well as media relations.
Each of these positions is a term position under the Federation’s collective agreement and will be paid $5,035.25 a month. The term of each position may vary, depending on the timing of the election.
