- CRAB PARK 101 E. WATERFRONT ROAD, Vancouver
Please join us for a vigil, BBQ and benefit to remember the well over 500 missing and murdered Aboriginal women across Canada, and to honour the missing and murdered Aboriginal women who have disappeared from the Down-town Eastside and the Highway of Tears here in British Columbia.
Join us at 1:00 pm for a vigil with the friends and family of these missing women. The vigil will be followed by a BBQ. The benefit begins at 8:00 pm at the Yale Hotel and features a silent auction, raffles and great music. All proceeds will go to the Highway of Tears investigation currently underway. The benefit is sponsored by Homebound Productions of Coquit-lam and will be broadcast via satellite by CFRN Radio (Canada First Nations Radio) based in Terrace, BC.
This vigil is sponsored by the Sisters in Spirit campaign and by the Native Women’s Association of Canada. In addition to the 10 vigils across Canada, vigils are also being held in Columbia and Peru where Indigenous women are experiencing the same tragedy. We want to honour these women and their families and pray for closure and justice. We want the families to know that they are not alone. Come out and show your support and love for these beautiful young women and their families. For more information and benefit tickets contact: Gladys Radek 604-253-5989 or Bernie Williams 604-609-0552
