Dear MUP Sisters and Brothers
On Friday September 19 our HEU LGBT Standing Committee is putting on a fundraising dance and social gathering at the WISE Hall in Vancouver . Tickets cost $15 and are available at the door or through the contact information on the attached poster. Proceeds will be donated to Vancouver Persons with AIDS on behalf of Team HEU.
I am writing to ask for your support.
- Please distribute the attached poster (pdf) as widely as possible.
- It would be great if all MUP members would consider buying a ticket and attending the dance.
- Also, I would appreciate it if all MUP members would consider asking their Unions and Locals to purchase a block of 10 tickets.
We believe that the issue of HIV/ AIDS is a point of “intersectionality” in the interests of all equity-seeking groups in all demographics within our Unions and in the general population including LGBTTQQI people, people with disabilities, First Nations people, ethnically diverse people, women and men. Our dance and social gathering aims to bring trade unionists and people from diverse communities together for a fun filled evening to support this good cause.
