Members also work in the fields of program outreach and administration; finance; human resources; communications; library services; environmental assessment; emergency services and compliance and enforcement.
The UEW is an affiliate of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). PSAC is one of the largest unions in Canada. It is comprised of a number of unions which, together under PSAC, represent almost 150,000 people. The 150,000 members, through PSAC, are also members of national and international labour organizations such as the Canadian Labour Congress. Many PSAC members work to better our world in their free time by working as volunteers and in coalition with women and men from here and abroad, to fight for more social justice and equity for Canadians and for those in other countries, too.
Please do not hesitate to contact your local steward or a member of the Local’s executive if you feel the need. Our approach to problem-solving is collaborative and respectful, but it does include filing grievances (individual, group, or policy) if the need arises and the member wishes.
For more information on PSAC, see the national website and/or the regional website.
